🫙 Overnight Oats
The no-cook breakfast that’s ready before you even wake up
This is peak lazy breakfast: you stir four things into a jar the night before, and you get to serve a yummy breakfast with zero effort. It’s creamy, it has chia and yogurt worked in, and your toddler gets to pick their own toppings. (I’m not a nutritionist — just a working mom who found something that works for us.)
I make a couple jars at once so breakfast is done for a few days.
Makes 2–3 servings
Ingredients
â…“ cup rolled oats
â…“ cup whole milk (add more if needed)
2 tbsp whole milk yogurt
1-2 tbsp chia seeds
Optional toppings (when serving): fresh berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries), a drizzle of peanut butter, a splash of milk or extra yogurt to loosen
Instructions
In a small glass jar or container, combine the oats, milk, yogurt, and chia seeds.
Stir well until everything is fully mixed.
Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4–6 hours).
In the morning, stir again and add a splash of milk or extra yogurt to reach your desired consistency.
Top with fresh berries and peanut butter, then serve.
A few notes from my kitchen
Storage: keep in an airtight jar in the fridge — best within 2–3 days for texture.
Prep a few at once: line up a couple jars on Sunday and breakfast handles itself.
Loosen in the morning: oats thicken overnight, so a splash of milk brings them right back to creamy.
Let them choose: setting out toppings and letting your toddler build their own gets a lot more buy-in
Give these a try and let me know how they go!
